Golden Hour Portraits Celebrating Self-Love Photography in Katy, TX
When Kerianne inquired about golden hour portraits, I was pleasantly surprised! But I didn’t hesitate to respond, “YES, let’s do it!!”
I then asked her a question that I ask all of my clients, “What are you hoping to gain out of this session? How do you want to feel when looking back at these photos 20 years from now?”
She said, “I want to feel beautiful as I am right now, at this moment. I want to capture myself today in the midst of a pandemic school year, juggling my career and raising my children, getting back to my post-baby lifestyle, and managing my health… This is me — the good and the not-so-great. And I want to remember that despite the obstacles and wavering self-esteem, I am beautiful, I am strong, I am blessed.”
Despite knowing this amazing woman for almost 15 years, I was in awe of her the entire session. She recognized and embraced something that we all need — self-love.
How often are we so mean to ourselves, only focusing on our supposed failings and faults? Why do we discount our beauty and the good others see in us? I would never let anyone talk to me the way my inner voice does, and yet, somehow, it’s the voice of reason.
Why is it that if some dude walked up to me on the subway platform and said these things, I’d think he was a mentally ill asshole, but if the vampire inside my head says it, it’s the voice of reason? — Die Vampire, Die! [title of show]
I love that she saw the opportunity to raise herself up, and she took it. I am here for it!! We stan an empowered goddess!
We went to a lovely park in Katy, TX, during golden hour — lighting befitting this Queen. And I believe we achieved the results she was looking for. I mean look at her!
